Get a glimpse into the life of a marine mammal scientist through this hands-on mock necropsy activity presented by the Pacific Marine Mammal Center. Participants will dissect plush sea lions, complete with soft internal organs, and investigate the challenges marine mammals face in the wild—based on real-life cases. They’ll learn about the scientific purpose of necropsies, the effects of human activity on marine life, and how we can all help protect ocean ecosystems.
