Mission
The goal of Business by Kids is to inspire and empower children to create, develop, and manage their own business projects. By encouraging curiosity, creativity, and confidence, the program helps kids build real-world skills in entrepreneurship, financial literacy, communication, and problem-solving.
Problem
Most business education programs are designed for adults or teens, while younger children are often excluded from practical entrepreneurial experiences. As a result, children miss the chance to explore their ideas, test concepts, and learn how business works in a hands-on and age-appropriate way.
Solution
Business by Kids offers a full suite of resources and tools that support young entrepreneurs at every stage—from idea to execution. These include interactive courses, educational books, a Business Planning AI Assistant, the Children’s Business Accelerator, the Business Idea Crush Test, and Kids Business Fairs.
How It Works
- Learning the Basics. Children start by learning business fundamentals—what a business is, how to generate ideas, identify customers, and understand value. This can be done online or in person, supported by young business mentors.
- Business Planning. Using the Business by Kids AI Assistant, children are guided step-by-step through the process, including Business Idea, Problem & Solution, Target Audience, Product or Service, Pricing, Promotion, etc.. We also teach kids how to use the KFW Business Plan tool adapted for young learners.
- Business Idea Crush Test. Before launching their ideas, children run their concepts through the Business Idea Crush Test, helping them assess creativity, feasibility, and impact in a fun and constructive way.
- Children’s Business Accelerator. Participants enter our guided business acceleration activities where they develop their business ideas—learning to pitch, make simple prototypes, and set up mini-ventures, all with mentoring and feedback.
- Promotion and Practice. Kids create simple websites, design business cards, and prepare mini-marketing campaigns. They can also integrate related projects like Events by Kids or Webistes by Kids to expand their ideas.
- Kids Business Fair. We are organzing or help connecting children to local and virtual Kids Business Fairs, where they can present and sell their products or services, gain customer feedback, and build confidence through real-world experience.
- Our Guarantee. We guarantee that each child will complete and present their own small business project within one month of starting, fully supported by practical tools, mentorship, and personalized assistance.

Example of Business by Kids
As an example of the Business by Kids project, second-grade student Alex developed the Sustainable Tourism Game, a board game designed to teach children and families how to make responsible travel decisions by balancing cost, time, and environmental impact. Players move between destinations using flight routes labeled with price, carbon footprint, and duration, aiming to reach their goals while minimizing emissions and staying within budget.
Alex presented the game at several Children’s Business Fairs, where he received feedback from dozens of visitors and refined the game’s rules, cards, and design. He also recorded 24 educational videos for the Sustainable Tourism for Kids course, launched the Cartwheels Around the World storytelling and travel awareness initiative, and co-authored a book on sustainable tourism written for young audiences.
His project won the national Student Ideas for a Better America award, earning a certificate, monetary prize, and eligibility for induction into the National Gallery for America’s Young Inventors. Alex continues to work on his business projects.

These are selected videos from the educational courses Alex developed at age 8.
