What You’ll Learn:
Here’s a sneak peek of what you’ll discover in this course:
Why Planning Events is Cool:
Planning events isn’t just about throwing parties—it’s about creating moments that people will remember. By learning how to plan events, you’ll:
How the Course Works:
This course is split into fun and easy modules. Each module will focus on a different part of event planning, and by the time you finish, you’ll be ready to host your own event. Here’s how it’s going to work:
Getting Started: Before we dive into the modules, let’s do a few activities to get you thinking like an event planner!
Course Learning Activities:
Activity 1: My Favorite Event
Think about the best event you’ve ever been to. It could be a birthday party, a school event, or even a family gathering. What made it so special? Was it the games, the people, the food, or something else? Write a short description of your favorite event and share it in the course discussion area. Let’s see what made these events unforgettable!
Activity 2: Event Planner Brainstorm
Grab a piece of paper and think of five events you’d love to plan. These could be as simple as a picnic with friends or as big as a school talent show. Don’t worry about the details just yet—just let your imagination run wild. Write down your ideas, and keep them handy. We’ll come back to them later in the course!
Activity 3: Create Your Event Idea Journal
You’ll be coming up with lots of ideas throughout this course, so it’s a good idea to start an “Event Idea Journal.” This can be a notebook, a document on your computer, or even a special section in your phone’s notes app. Use it to jot down any cool event ideas, decorations you think of, or activities you’d like to include in your event. By the end of the course, you’ll have a whole collection of ideas to choose from!
Activity 4: Event Word Search
To get familiar with some event planning terms, try out our Event Word Search! Look for words like “theme,” “invite,” “plan,” and “decorate.” It’s a fun way to start thinking like an event planner.
Wrapping Up the Introduction:
Now that you’ve got an idea of what the course is all about and completed some fun activities to get started, you’re ready to dive into Module 1. In the next module, we’ll explore what events are and why they’re so important. Get ready to discover the amazing world of event planning!
